swift slash is a good solution for the blind spot spammer (well any kind of ash spam) any build can take it, do outragious damage and transform the match in nomatch it even is the only solution against himself (if your opponent is not too laggy ofc) so keep one close for the cancer and grab your claymore and fight ! don't forget to say hello to your opponent instead of buffing !

Flame knight greatsword with fire infusion. If you use messmers flame AoWs the lingering fire does bonus damage. It averages 8-900 damage on an R1 and its the good moveset. Its only a bit better than the guts greatsword imo.

Im curious of your oppinion that golden crux ash fro the frenzy guys sword. Been doing some pvp with it and the damage numbers you can hit on it are nuts.

I think the only weapons that need tuned are the Fire Knight's Greatsword that can true combo off of an R1 or the Perfumes with Rolling Spark pointed straight at the ground. They seem unintended, but they might just need a tweak. At least swift slash can be parried.

Please. We have stuff from the base that are desperately in need of being looked at. Look at ground slam. Look at prayerful strike. Look at colossals weapons. Look at colossal powerstance. Look at clubs. Look at broadsword r2. Look at shortsword r2. Look at twinblade r2s. Look at crossbows. Look at cannon projectile spawn. Look at gravitas. Look at gravity repulsion. Sadly "Broken" falls into the bunch of youtube algorithm words like "NEW" "BEST" "STRONGEST" you get the point. Not necessary true, but needed for the youtube game. And most of the time it is pertaining to PVE where one shots or big dmg is valued over the intricacy of PVP movesets.

This concept is not only related to Elden Ring, but in games in general. There is such a misunderstand of the term "Broken", if u take LoL as exemple people call Broken everything that has an high win ration. But in this way we completely override the sense of term "Meta". Broken should be use to all the thing that are Foundamentaly Wrong, such as a super simple execution united with extremely good outcomes. Also, In my opinion Broken, can be used to define also the opposite way: Super complex execution united with horrendous outcomes. Because also in this case we have a foundamentaly wong problem.

The things that stand out as the most atrocious to me so far is obviously swift strike (one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen in FromSoft pvp), the two hit combo on fire knight greatsword and the teleporting axes. This is all from an invader standpoint so in duels I don’t think some of these things are as bad

There are some much needed nerfs right now. Blind spot, swift blade, the deathknight axe AOW, the new Thorn sorcerery. I dont know the difference between brokenand needing a nerf but its super unbalanced right now.

I would like to note about the chicken wing, multi hit ashes are really strong on them. I did 1900 damage and one hit ko on savage lions claw, and thats without any boosting talismans. It bled twice in one ash, which is pretty crazy, but other than that, it seems completely fine. Far from broken, and actually quite fun for a colossal. It hard counters turtle builds too since it always bleeds which interrupts their shield poke

much of the "broken" weapons talk comes from the PvE performance, wich is very different from pvp, or straight up come from click bait videos

I do think that, in the case of this weapon, people only think it's 'broken' for PvE situations, where it just bleeds enemies/bosses a bit too easily

Not sure if i agree with the weapon doing instant bleed with one button, but a slow and bad moveset doing high damage alone I am fine with. Only thing i disagree with is the bleeding.

How do you change build every so often? Even tho larval tears can't be dropped to other players?

I'd recommend fs to take away some of the insane recovery of rr1s on the backhand blades and give some to their neutral r2

TLDR, there are two broken weapons. The fire knight colossal, and swift slash aow. That's it.

These “broken” ashes make a lot more sense when you realize that Miyazaki intended for us to beat the game using our feet. The game is balanced that way.

I 5 shot the final boss with the chicken nugget. In pve it's definitely broken so it's probably getting nerfed.
